Exhibition: Kamaboko-Kou (curated by PALABOLA) in Omotesando Art Fair 2012. This work is a collaboration with ‘artisans’ of Kamaboko,

Japanese-style fish cakes, working at Suzuhiro, one of the oldest and famous Kamaboko brands located in Odawara.

Usually Kamaboko is attached to a wooden board, but I turned it to rounded seeds.

Yes, it is Kamaboko seeds. It’s filled with the craftsmanship, the nature of Odawara and the spirit of Suzuhiro brand continuing since the Edo period.
